PAP opens for interns to shape students ready for future work

Pacific Pipe Public Company Limited (PAP), a large leader in manufacturing and distributing steel pipes in Thailand, set up a bilateral project to enhance the potential of vocational students by providing a learning space for them through an internship program. This project would take them to delve into each process of steel production, and emphasize on hands-on experience to hone their skills with the PAP expert team, which would keep them well-prepared for work in the future.

This pilot bilateral project was initiated in collaboration with the Samut Sakhon Technical College (SKNTC), which is an educational institution in the proximity of PAP’s plant in Mahachai, Samut Sakhon Province. As for the selection process, students who were currently studying in a high vocational level would be eligible to join the project for a period of one year and would receive remuneration during their internship. Also, those who have an outstanding performance would have a chance to become a member of the expert team. On the first day of the project, Mrs. Aeimporn Panyasai, PAP Chief Executive Officer, led a group of executives to welcome the interns, provide advice, and make an introduction about the factory along with an informal Q&A session to the students at the Mahachai factory.

Mrs. Aeimporn Panyasai, PAP Chief Executive Officer, said that ‘The students are considered a new potential generation for us. We expect that those who join this internship will learn how to apply their in-class knowledge with working in the factory, including enhance their knowledge and innovate new techniques to gain a better result. This will also allow them to learn more about teamwork, especially friendship and affiliation among the PAP family. Lastly, we hope that everyone will be equipped with a thinking process that has been taught and utilise knowledge from this classroom in their future job.’

Mr. Phornmongkhol Woranam, Chief of the Machine Shop Department of SKNTC, said that ‘I am pleased that our students are provided with this opportunity to join the internship with PAP. Due to its reputation for professionalism and globally accepted standards I am confident that our students will be able to spend this valuable one-year experience developing themselves and truly utilise it to build up their knowledge and skills for the future career.’

PAP is determined to move its business toward being a leader in manufacturing and distributing steel pipes in Thailand. Making profit is not a single aim of our company but proceeding our business by supporting the community and environment to elevate one’s quality of life, which is significant to lead our business to success and sustainability.
